Mariusz Maziarz defended his PhD thesis in economics (Philosophy of Causality in Economics: Causal Inferences and Policy Proposals, Routledge 2020) in December 2020. He is interested in philosophical and methodological problems related to causal inference in the sciences and currently focuses on the problem of inconsistent results in medicine. Mariusz Maziarz has visited Erasmus Institute for Philosophy and Economics (EIPE) at Erasmus University Rotterdam, Centre for Logic, Language, and Computation (ILLC) at University of Amsterdam, and Centre for Philosophy of Social Sciences (TINT) at University of Helsinki. He received The Scholarship of the Minister of Science and Higher Education for Outstanding Young Scholars and “START” scholarship from Foundation for Polish Science (FNP). His articles appeared in, among others, Journal of Economic Methodology, History and Philosophy of Life Sciences, and Journal for Evaluation in Clinical Practice.
