Abstract

(Joint work with Piotr Bystranowski & Tomasz Żuradzki) The aim of this paper is to better understand how bioethics journals engage with other academic literatures. As our primary data source, we use citation data from approximately forty-five thousand texts published in twenty-one key bioethics journals. These data allow us to uncover a number of interesting citation patterns, but they also highlight the limitations of citation analysis when applied to a field that is highly integrated into adjacent disciplines.
