About the Fellowship Programme

Marie Skłodowska-Curie (MSCA) Postdoctoral Fellowships is a postdoctoral programme funded by the European Commission which aims to enhance the creative and innovative potential of researchers holding a PhD and who wish to acquire new skills through advanced training, international, interdisciplinary, and inter-sectoral mobility. Fellowships can last between 12 and 24 months.

The programme guarantees excellent working conditions inclusive of a generous salary (about € 4,440 monthly, gross), mobility allowance (€710 monthly), family allowance, if applicable (€660 monthly), an annual research grant (€ 12 K a year) and other allowances, e.g., special needs (if applicable). The grantees can expect full-time employment contract with full health and Social Security coverage under the Polish Labour Code.

Who can apply?

  • citizens of any country, regardless of nationality, age and gender
  • holders of PhD (at the time of the deadline for applications)
  • researchers with no more than eight years of experience in research, from the date of the award of their PhD degree
  • researchers who have not lived or worked in Poland for more than 12 months within the 3 years before the date of the call launch

Additionally, candidates for MSCA Fellowships in Poland are a part of the WIDENING tool and are automatically eligible for ERA Fellowships: provided that the application passes the evaluation threshold, namely the 85%, it will have the possibility to be funded under the widening budget when the MSCA budget runs out.

If you have any questions about applying for a POLONEZ BIS Postdoctoral Fellowship at the Interdisciplinary Centre for Ethics, please feel free to ask: incet@uj.edu.pl If accepted, the Jagiellonian University MSCA advisor will help you with your application.

Who are we?

The Interdisciplinary Centre for Ethics offers an excellent international work environment. Our research interests include (but are not limited to) ethics, bioethics, practical ethics, experimental philosophy, moral psychology, philosophy of science, political philosophy, philosophy of law, and epistemology.

Although our research interests are diversified, we focus on problems that bridge the gap between philosophy and practice. We use an interdisciplinary approach to deal with philosophical problems in practical contexts: both "armchair" methods typical for the humanities and social sciences (conceptual analysis, case studies), as well as empirical methods (behavioral experiments, corpus analysis, topic modeling).

The Interdisciplinary Centre for Ethics (INCET) is currently hosting BIOUNCERTAINTY Starting Grant funded by the European Research Council (ERC) led by Tomasz Żuradzki, the head of the Centre. INCET also hosts 7 successful POLONEZ BIS postdocs (POLONEZ BIS a postdoctoral programme, co-funded by the European Commission under the Marie Skłodowska-Curie COFUND grant) and other research projects.
