Spotkanie odbędzie się 17 października o godzinie 17:30 w sali 25 przy ul. Grodzkiej 52 oraz za pośrednictwem platformy MS Teams.

Abstrakt

Both the self-expression and reason-responsiveness views of moral responsibility take emotions as an input of moral responsibility. Emotional states are considered on the side of the perpetrator (eg. as a reflection of commitments/concerns in deep self theories – e.g. Sripada, 2015), as well as on the side of the judge (e.g. the post-strawsonian reactive approaches – Shoemaker, 2015). But what are these authors talking about when they talk about emotions? In this talk I will try to analyze how different theories of moral responsibility conceptualize emotions, especially in terms of epistemology/fittingness (eg. D’Arms, 2024; Deonna&Teroni, 2024). I will argue that recent view of emotional constructivism (Barrett, 2017) can pose some problems for various theories of moral responsibility. I will outline an empirical proposal study that supports this claim.
